What clothes should I bring?Tops – Bring a wide range of options, ironed and folded flat. Items that fit/dress you well. Try to keep them to block-colours with no strong patterns or stripes. Choose colours that are good for your skin tones, that don’t wash you out. Please avoid brilliant white, as that will blow out in the shots, and dark greys as that is the backdrop colour. Avoid logos. You can bring jackets or shirts to give your look layers. We will have 2-3 changes in the session.
-
Where will the shoot take place? The session will take place in the relaxed and friendly environment of my home in North West London - NW24EP. Closest Tube: Kilburn on Jubilee Line, then 7 mins walk.
-
How will the shoot work?Once you have confirmed the session, choose three to four characters and work in advance on looks/expressions in advance that would represent these characters best. When you arrive for your session, we will talk though which charcters we think will suit you best. We will then select the the appropriate wardrobe for each character by shooting a quick test shot for all the looks. From there we start crafting our shots and make the session enjoyable.
-
How should I prepare for the shoot?Make sure you have a good night's sleep the night before the shoot, and eat well a couple of hours before we start.
-
Should I get a fresh haircut?Don’t risk a new haircut or colour the day before the shoot. Stick with a style and colour that you know suits you best.
-
Who will do my hair and make up?You will be doing your own make up. Please bring a brush and clips if needed for any different looks you want to try. For make-up keep it natural to a minimum, you know your face best, so bring what you think you will need.
-
I’m a bit nervous? We will have plenty of time before we start shooting to discuss what you want from the session. I have spent many years directing talent so the best thing you can do is relax and enjoy yourself.
-
Head shots vs portraits? My Head shots are framed on your head & shoulders, focusing on your facial expressions and are shot indoors with a controlled lighting set up. Portraits are focused more on you as a person, how you sit, stand or move, and can be half or full body shots. They can be shot both indoors - in a control lighting setup - or on location using available light.
-
How do I pay?You pay a £50 deposit when booking which can be refunded if you cancel with more than 72 hours notice. The balance is paid on the day of the shoot in cash or by bank transfer only. Not through my site.
-
Will I have copyright of my shots? In the UK by law, the photographer always owns the copyright of their images. When you agree to a shoot with me, I will be granting you permission to use these images only to promote yourself as a performer within the industry.
-
Can I turn up early?Sorry unfortunately I do not have a waiting area so please turn up as close to the agreed time as possible.
-
How long will it take to get the images after the session? You will receive your preview low-resolution Jpegs within 7 days of the shoot by WeTransfer - but normally sooner. Once you have emailled me your selected favourites for retouching, you will have the final high-resolution Jpegs within 7 days For urgent or additional retouched images within 5 days, the cost will be £20 each; or within 2 days, £40 each.
